Hello to everyone on this stunning Friday!
We are truly embracing the change of season here at the studio, as spring is provides us with all this beautiful weather we are celebrating of all things fresh, feminine and playful in the blog this week with some lovely spring bathroom inspiration!
Whether it’s choosing certain finishes and textures, or injecting a bit of light colour, introducing some curved elements or bringing in hints of the outdoors- they can all work together to create the bright and fun feel to your bathroom that radiates that spring atmosphere.
There is always opportunity to have a lot more fun with your tile shape and texture and is definitely something that we think can lift and brighten the overall feel of a space. Narrower tiles laid in both a horizontal and vertical orientations have so much character and we just love it! Creating a space which feels artistic and unique. Hexagonal tiles are also a fun way of changing it up from your standard large surface tiles square or rectangular format. With the world of tiles constantly growing, the options are endless so why not make your bathroom space one to remember with something a little unusual. We still can’t get enough of our beautiful mosaics in our new studio bathroom space.
We also absolutely love handmade tiles in bathrooms. They often have a beautiful finish and the hand-crafted nature to them, meaning that no two tiles are exactly the same, bringing something truly unique and beautiful into your bathroom. By keeping these tiles in a white or a neutral colour, and making the shape or texture the hero to keep your bathroom feeling light and bright while injecting some fun into the space. Or if you are brave enough why not make your beautiful handmade tiles a feature – wrap some pastel colours around your shower or a intricate patterned mosaic as your flooring? We are in love with all the handmade tiles from Tiles of Ezra!
A natural timber or timber look vanity is a beautiful way to introduce that element of nature and bring the outside in, in a way that makes a space feel refreshing – not only in spring but all year round! Pair it with some indoor plants, or dried native florals and you are set for that spring injection. A lighter coloured timber, like oak can be such a nice way too go and looks seamless paired with a natural stone and warm toned fixtures and fittings.
In last week’s blog we mentioned how much we were loving the blush tones that are huge in design right now. The whole colour scheme just screams fresh and playful! The bathroom can be a great area to introduce these fun colours. How gorgeous does the blush tones in the vanity and bench top above look paired with the brass tap and round handles? May or may not be off to completely renovate my bathroom in blush and brass!
Who said you have to limit yourself to blush tones to get that spring feeling going. Pale greens and blues are also such a beautiful option. They provide a sense of ease and calm, bringing in that feeling of the natural environment. The palette in the image above is a beautiful example of this! The blue tones are fresh and bright without being too bold or ‘in your face’, and the variation of material between the marble and the handmade tiles are just divine. Paired with the crisp white bath tub and brass elements as feature brings the whole look together.
Round and curved elements are also a great way to bring some organic character into the bathroom. The shapes juxtaposes so pleasantly against the straight lines within the space, and emanates a feeling of welcome and interest. It gives the overall space a more gentle and carefree feel, its just amazing how by rounding off an otherwise typically sharp point or edge creates a softness to the overall atmosphere. These curved lines work really well through the application of round mirrors, shower screens and even door ways.
