Happy Friday all!!
Actually feels like it’s been a while since I’ve started a blog like that, and it’s easily become one of our teams favorite motto’s here in the studio. Today we are bringing you yet another exciting project which was recently completed on site and handed over to our lovely Clients.
Perched up in the beautiful suburb of Red Hill, this beautiful Queenslander was in dire need of a facelift. After recently completing lower level renovations, the Clients of this home approached us to give them the kitchen and living space they have always dreamt of. After extensive planning and a smooth construction period (despite some small challenges Covid presented), the Clients are now proud owners of a beautifully finished and cohesive home.
Honestly, there is nothing better than that feeling that in some way we are changing peoples lives… and how they live and enjoy their home and time with each other!
“…From the beginning of our kitchen project we were very comfortable with Darren, Elissa and team. Our project was not just a new kitchen. We needed to pull walls and a fireplace out, replace ceilings and lay new flooring. DJ’s diverse team were able to oversee the entire project. They presented concepts that we didn’t think possible and were able to turn rough ideas into our dream kitchen and living space.
DJ and his team were so professional throughout the build, updated us with weekly build reports and always on hand for any questions.
We would sincerely like to thank Darren, Elissa and their team, especially Kari for her vision, Sarah for answering all our crazy questions, Cameron for supervising the build and to all the trades that made it happen! We would not hesitate to recommend!!” – Our Red Hill clients
BEFORE –
Originally separated into three pokey rooms, the kitchen and main living space of this home not only lacked a sense of connection, but the kitchen resembled that of a 1990’s contemporary build which just didn’t suit the beautiful character of the famous Queenslander homes. Now, as you walk through the front door of this home, you are met with a long corridor and character filled doorway leading straight into the grand kitchen and living area at the back of the home. Designed with a modern Queenslander aesthetic, with custom profiled doors that gives the standard Shaker profile a run for its money, and beautiful, softly curved acid etched Ash Marble, the kitchen is now a space the Clients can truly be proud of.
This kitchen was designed with function in mind. We gave the Clients multiple areas to eat and entertain including an adjacent dining room with a fun feature pendant from Fred International as well as typical island bench seating sat under the beautiful Atomium pendant by Lambert & Fils. With the island bench facing the new living area, we also gave the Clients an additional prep sink fit with an All-In-One ZipTap so the Clients can prep, cook, and fill up on drinks without ever having to disconnect from their family and visitors.

Integration and seamless design were also a big component behind the design of the space. Fully integrated appliances including side by side Liebherr fridge and freezer, an extra large Miele dishwasher, and the beautiful professional series induction cooktop and benchtop downdraft from Bora were selected to not only create a beautiful space but to allow the Clients to clean the space up without having to worry about raised edges or fussy stainless steel.
To finish off the space, we supplied furnishings such as the Brooklyn dining chairs from Jardan and the amazing Amadi Brahea II rug from Halcyon Lake. We also partnered with Domo Australia and TW Fine Art in Brisbane to provide furnishings such as the Togo Lounge and the beautiful artwork by Jonni Cheatwood that the Client’s adored.
