We are still on a high this morning after our very own young gun design graduate Karlee Blackburn took out three to awards at the QUT Interior Design Graduate Exhibition held at Living Edge Showroom on Friday night.

We always knew she had something special, but after all her hard work and dedication over the past five years it was so nice to see her receive the recognition she so rightly deserves. Karlee was awarded the DIA  (Design Institute of Australia) Graduate of the Year award,  QUT Academic Excellence Award distinguishing her in an elite group of high-achievers as well as an industry award from Laminex Industries which entitles her to an all expenses paid trip down to Laminex’s head office in Melbourne Head Office where she will receive a grand tour. Congratulations Karlee!!!

 We would also like to commend all graduates for their high quality of  work and achievement, it’s so exciting to see so much up and coming talent in our industry!

Karlee was also one of a few students that organised the entire event which was held at Living Edge Showroom in Fortitude Valley – all whilst trying to juggle her full time job (and we all know what this time of year is like for our industry)! The night was a huge success so big thumbs up Karlee, you should be proud!
