Happy Sunday! How is it already April right?!
Following on from last weeks blog – Displaying Your Art – Our Methods, where we shared some of our top techniques when it comes to displaying your much loved pieces! We thought what better way to keep the art collecting mood going than to share some of our favourite galleries in Australia.
A handful of some of the very best, where you can find them and some of their current collections to inspire you!
STUDIO GALLERY
1238 High Street, Armadale VIC | 14 Dissik Street, Cheltenham VIC | 3-7 Danks Street, Waterloo NSW
Studio Gallery has one of Australia’s largest commercially available collections of contemporary art held across three stunning gallery locations in both Melbourne and Sydney. They are one of our absolute ‘go to’s’ when selecting art for our projects as they have such a large array of beautiful pieces!
Their currently collections include the likes of Jacob Spokes, Ali McNabney Stevens, Jean Paul Mangin, Claire Kirkup and Nathan Betts.
TW FINE ART
22 Masters Street, Newstead QLD
TW Fine Art is a contemporary gallery that brings together a group of pioneering international artists, uniting them in a manner that speaks to the global nature of the post-millennial art world. This gallery has been a great addition to the Art scene here in Brisbane, with lots of great features both abstract and minimal! We loved collaborating with TW Fine Art on our recent Red Hill Residence.
Their current exhibition ‘Body Language’ by Stanislas Piechaczek is available to view in the gallery – as well as a host of other great artists such as Briony Barr, Samuel Bassett, Jonni Cheatwood, available online!
GALLERY RAYE
Based in Brisbane – Online Only
Gallery Raye is currently a boutique art gallery — offered exclusively online only for now, until their upcoming first group show at Newstead Studios in April this year! They represent emerging and mid-career artists, working will all sorts of clients from art lovers procuring works for their home, to experienced collectors, to interior designers, architects or developers.
Their current online collection include the likes of Ben Liney, Helle Cook, Tiel Seivl-Keevers, Jack Rodgers and Alana Gunn.
JAN MANTON GALLERY
54 Vernon Terrace, Teneriffe QLD
Jan Manton Gallery is a leading art gallery located in the wool store precinct of Teneriffe. Director Jan Manton established the gallery in 2004 with the vision of supporting artists who contribute to the vibrant and dynamic discourse on contemporary art in Australia. The gallery’s exhibition program encourages collectors to connect through artist talks, exhibition openings and panel discussions.
They just closed out a wonderful exhibition ‘Ways of Being’ by Natalie Lavelle – but have many great exhibitions and opening nights on the horizon!
LINDEN NEW ART
Bunurong Boon Wurrung Country – 26 Acland Street, St Kilda VIC
Linden New Art supports brave new art by mid-career artists and engages visitors through inspiring, thought-provoking exhibitions of new work. They exhibit new works that inspire, provoke and contribute to conversations and debate, with a special focus on supporting First Nations heritage and culture.
The art gallery is currently exhibiting a plethora of great collections such as ‘Time Fell Asleep In The Evening Rain’ by Cyrus Tang and ‘Relics’ by Jarrad Martyn.
Happy art shopping!!
