It’s the first thing we see before we wake in the morning and the last thing before we hit our heads on the pillow at night.
The trusty bedside is a staple for any bedroom and if you’re anything like me, it can sometimes become a dumping ground for endless random stuff…we’re talking nail files, chargers, watches, lip balm… you name it!
Of course having everything easily accessible makes it super practical but also quite an eye sore to look at!
So, before you start hiding all your things into a draw… we have compiled a simple list of four of our top styling tips that gives you all your bedside essentials without compensating on your style!
Lighting
High on the list is the obvious thing, lighting!
Lighting is so important, not only for practicality purposes but it is such a key element to the overall feel of your bedroom. Wall sconces are our favs! It gives you practicality without consuming any space on your bedside table. Or, simply add a candle – I love the ambience a candle creates for those relaxing nights.
And for all my fellow book geeks, choosing a lighting option that is directional is a must have when styling my bedside!
Personal Touch
Your bedroom is such a personal space for you, and the last thing you want is for your space to lack personality. By stacking a few novels, design books, travel books (for the future, fingers crossed) it can become part of the styling as well. I love choosing books that reflect a little about me – and always a bonus if they go with the colour scheme…
The essentials
I love my night time routine, it always helps me wind down from my crazy work days and switch into sleep mode… I’m a huge fan of essential oils and balms of different sorts so having them by my bedside is super convenient. Using a simple tray to gather all your smaller items really helps for a more tidy appearance.
When styling don’t afraid to stack and layer styling items on top of each other! Using items of varying heights is more pleasing towards the eye and works in creating balance rather than clutter.
Cords don’t work for anyone’s aesthetic… and it only takes a couple to get tangled for it to look like a cable jungle by your bed! If your bedside has draw storage then you’re in luck! Another alternative is having an extension cord that can house all your cords and can be tucked away under your bed when not in use.
Bring in some life
Who doesn’t like waking up to something beautiful? Adding a gorgeous vase or pot with some flowers or a little plant is an easy way to add some life to the space. Dried flowers are great for those who struggle to keep plants alive (that’s me…). There are so many different species of plants and arrangements you can switch it up with the seasons for an ever lasting fresh space to relax in!
