We touched down in Milan, Italy and are diving straight into Design Week here!
As promised – we want to take you all along with us for each step of the way! So here is our round up what MILAN DESIGN WEEK DAY 01 had to offer…
01 – CASSINA SHOWROOM
First pit stop of the day was the stunning Cassina Showroom with Mobilia, where we fell in love with the ‘Cassina Perspective’ of bold colourways, brave contrasts and furniture design details! We love their collaborations with Virgil Bloh for ‘Modular Imagination’, Afra & Tobia Scarpa for the ‘Soriana Armchair’ and Patrica Urquiola for her gorgeous glassware.
Plus how incredible is their statement staircase – bring on more yellow / blue colour contrasts.
02 – MOROCCO EXHIBITION
Stop Two was the Forest Wandering Installation, which is a collaboration between Moroso X Front Design X Kvadratt Textiles. Drawing inspirations from the natural environment ‘Arda’ is a knitted fabric designed by Kvadrat & Febrik, merged with ‘Pebble Rubble’ which is a modular system of seats inspired by rock forms.
We really enjoyed viewing the new fabric ranges, the moody exhibition and our great chats with the founder of Kvadratt.
03 – CC TAPIS SHOWROOM
Next on the agenda was the CC Tapis Showroom which was rug crushes galore! So many amazing textures, chunky pile heights and thoughtful colour / pattern combinations. Our favourites are definitely their works with Mobilia, Patricia Urquiola and Bethan Laura Wood. If only we could roll up all these rugs and take them home with us!
04 – POLTRONA FRAU COCKTAIL PARTY
To end the day we were chauffeured in this little blue mobile to the Poltrona Frau Cocktail Party. The courtyard was buzzing, tunes were pumping and cocktails in hand as we experienced the ‘True Evolution’ Impressive Exhibition and new collections they had on display.
