Darren James – finalist ‘Queensland Small / Medium Kitchen Design of the Year 2011
+ Project Description
A once cramped, dark and dated kitchen has been cleverly redesigned with achromatic colour palette, contemporary finishes and a splash of re – proof that a functional redesign need not include an expansion, and can be achieved despite the constraints and special challenges that an apartment presents.
Non-functional and anti-social the original kitchen was a typical 80s affair –isolated and uninviting. Situated in the trendy inner-city suburb of New Farm with views directly across to the beautiful New Farm Park, the apartment was in desperate need of remodelling to echo the contemporary essence of this vibrant district. As busy professionals and frequent entertainers, a bright, chic, functional kitchen that reflected the clients personalities and lifestyle was highly sought after.
Here is the end result….
