Absolutely loved revealing our gorgeous Redland Bay master suite to you all last week, and just can’t help but follow with another one of our dreamy master suites this week! This project is an amazing showcase of just how well our proposed design renders transform into the beautiful finished product!
The client purchases this waterfront home, which was originally built in the mid-2000s to embark on a renovation project which we were thankfully selected to design and construct. He wanted his master-suite to characterize an overall masculine design with generous proportions and luxurious atmosphere. The client travels a lot for work and always wanted a hotel style bathroom of international standard to return home to between trips to retreat to.
We developed an open plan bathroom by installing an additional structural beam to span from the shower wall to the exterior canal wall. To re-configure the bathroom, the floor was x-rayed in order to core drill new waste locations through the slab. This reconfiguration allowed us to create a more generous foot print that included a large freestanding spa bath, as well as a double shower and vanity. To maintain privacy the toilet location remained the same.

To create the moody, masculine atmosphere the client requested a dark colour palette which was crafted using dark stone look tiles on both the wall and floors, along with dark timber look joinery. Recessed LED lighting also added to the dramatic feel of the space. Pops of white were used to counter the darker selections in the form of Corian surface which was used for the counter, basins and more innovatively to clad the spa bath. Custom black metal shower framed was designed for the shower screen, as well as custom timber joinery around the spa to not soften the white cladding but also achieving extra storage. The overall design and sophisticated styling resulted in a space which showcased a sense of luxury with a hint of Australian lifestyle.
