This beautiful home is located on picturesque Coochiemudlo Island. The homeowners approached Interiors by Darren
James wanting a kitchen for their gorgeous waterfront property that represented their lifestyle and the home’s
architectural style – relaxed, yet sophisticated. As an artist, the client has a passion for colour and glasswork so it was important to have a colour palette that complemented her beautiful collection of coloured glasswork.
Designer Darren James selected a neutral colour palette of white and grey.
The homeowners also wanted a functional space where they could enjoy cooking and entertaining. They wanted to take advantage of the gorgeous bay views and display their much-loved art collection. With limited overall floor and wall space, the clients needed a thoughtful layout that didn’t close in the overall living space. The integrated dining table and hallway office furniture create a seamless connection between the two areas. The clever use of feature lightboxes highlights the client’s stunning art collection and brings light into the room.
Both the lightboxes and open shelves feature Amerind ‘Aspen Forest Cresto’ laminated board, while the other doors and panels feature Dulux ‘Tea House’ and Resene ‘Black White’. The kitchen’s splashback also features painted glass in Dulux ‘Tea House’, set against crisp Staron benchtops.
Tasmanian oak brings a touch of warmth, with the light colour of the timber reflecting the property’s coastal location. Premium appliances by Neff add the finishing touch to the stunning project.
