Last Friday we attended the HIA Brisbane Kitchen & Bathroom, and Queensland Interior Design Awards! Considering it was our first event out as a team in what feels like nearly a year, we were all pretty stoked to just be finishing off the long week with some champagne and good company.
A good night out quickly became a great night, with 5 of our projects taking home a total of 10 Awards!
We are so grateful to have these opportunities to celebrate all our hard work as a team – it really makes all the challenges and obstacles we face so much more worth it!
So without further ado, let us introduce you to the Award Winning projects…
Chapel Hill Residence – Renovated Bathroom over $40K + Bathroom Design + Bathroom of the Year.
This client was a return client of ours which is always super lovely! As a busy couple they requested a luxurious master suite that was open, airy and had a natural feel. We love the juxtaposition between the organic nature of the mosaic tiles and the deep detailed veining in the large natural stone tiles.
Ascot Residence – Renovated Kitchen Over $50k + Kitchen Design + Kitchen of the Year.
No stone was left unturned when it came to the detail in this beautiful kitchen. From the herringbone detail of the custom black japan doors to the brushed brass inlay – this kitchen is certainly a show stopper!
Abian Residence – Interior Cabinetry Winner.
When designing this space our clients requested a soft art deco style that was both bold and luxurious. Custom solid timber fluted detail was designed to complement the existing architecture. The curved marble plinth brings an asymmetrical element to the design whilst the champagne metallic 2Pac detail provides frames the joinery beautifully. I’m sure you will agree that the wall sconce from Giopato and Coombes adds that final layer of jewelry to this bespoke piece.
Kangaroo Point Residence – Interior Design over $100k.
Now this is what we call a transformation! From a tired, old unused basement to a cellar of our clients dreams (ours too actually)! Floor to ceiling custom wine racks and subtle hints of brass accents are just some of the elements that helped breathe a whole new level of luxury into this amazing space.
Ascot Residence – Interior Design over $200k + Interior Design of the Year.
And finally here is our big winner of the night…. our Ascot project took out Interior Design of the Year!
Stylistically, the brief for this home was to create an interior that was transitional, rich in detail and celebrated authenticity. We developed an overall inspiration of a European art hotel with iconic international designs, splashes of colour and a mix of textures used throughout. This sense of fun and luxury balanced the more traditional architectural elements such as the new cabinetry, timber floors, molding and ceiling detailing. Custom items such as the deco in-spired entry rug and dining room rug, as well as the dining table were developed in-house and then mixed with international design icons from Space, Living Edge, Domo and Dedece for an international and ageless feel. All the elements of the design combine to give this traditional home a modern and glamorous edge with a sense of international style.
Can’t forget to share some of the happy snaps from what was a great night of celebrations, sadly missing Darren who was in the operating theatre getting his knee reconstruction eeeeek!
Huge thank you to all our beautiful clients for handing over their homes into our trusting hands!
