Meet our family (if you haven’t already)… and welcome to the beginning of the build journey of our home – Bayview One!
Over the past 15 years we have designed, created and renovated hundreds of homes for our clients, now it’s finally our turn to play the client and build a house for our family from the ground up.
So here we are, about to embark on the full design and build of our very own family home in the leafy bayside suburb of Wellington Point that we call home.
A short stroll to the gorgeous Moreton Bay, with views across the water to some of Queensland’s finest islands, this beautiful bayside village boasts a vibrant family life that we have grown to love. We originally purchased the property back in 2014 after falling in love with the location. Darren, a mad fishman and both of us ocean lovers immediately fell in love with the laid back lifestyle the picturesque seaside suburb offered.
Whilst the value was always in the subdivision of the land, for me, the cute little white weatherboard home on the existing property was just an added bonus and Darren and I both knew it would be the perfect place to call home while watching the kids grow up in their younger years! We did do a small cosmetic reno on it to make it feel like home until we had time to commit to the subdivision, and up until now it really has been the perfect home for a growing family!

But, we love a new project (or two) so now it’s time to begin designing, planning and building the first of the new homes we had planned to build on that very same patch of land we fell in love with!
It’s fair to say we are a tad bit excited, not only for a new home but even more so to be able to share this fun (sure sometimes stressful) journey with you all!

Like all our projects, no matter their level, there is still a build budget. But we plan on balancing great design and quality materials with solutions that align with that to ensure we maximise it. The vision for the design is to create a home that our busy family can enjoy and call home (for however long that may be) so ensuring it functions well (and looks good) is paramount.
Our focus over the coming months is not only to share the design-build process with you, but more importantly to showcase some of the amazing suppliers, trades and specialists that we are blessed to work with every day on our studio projects. If there is one thing we know for certain, it is that great design is only as good as the quality of the materials and the execution of the details and finishes used.
