One of our favorite projects of 2020 so far… our Chapel Hill Residence!
After completing the renovation of the client’s kitchen and main living area back in 2016, we were lucky enough to come back and help them transform the master ensuite, injecting the same design language as the rest of the home. The property is surrounded by an abundance of lush greenery and sits high on a hillside with panoramic views to the outdoors.
We have been working on this second stage of their home in parts over Christmas last year and the start of this year so they could continue to live in their home through the process. So we are super excited to finally see it all come together, and we know they are too!
“…Just a quick note to say thankyou for our wonderful new space. We are very happy with not just the quality of the work, but perhaps more importantly with the way you and the team conducted yourselves throughout the build especially given the uncertainty created by COVID-19. We have really appreciated the effort put into the constructive and honest communication with us, particularly by Cam and Sarah, that has allowed us to work effectively from home during the project. With your creativity and expertise, we are now the proud owners of a truly spectacular house!!
Thanks for making this such a positive experience for us (even if a tad noisy and dusty at times )” – Our Chapel Hill clients
BEFORE –
A full redesign of the master ensuite and walk in robe was completed. Our aim was to provide the clients with the most functional layout possible, maximise the space and storage whilst specifying new finishes including floor and wall tiles, benchtops, joinery finishes, and tapware finishes to breathe a new identify into the space. We also specified new sanitaryware throughout including an in-wall cistern and toilet, shower duo rail, shower mixers, basins and wall mounted tapware. With this, we finished off the space with the necessary fixtures and fittings including joinery hardware, towel rails and robes hooks and paper roll holders.
A new lighting layout was also designed, including Flos wall sconces, and LED strips within all joinery and niches, all of which are on sensors for maximum functionality. Modern, ceiling recessed light fixtures from Delta Light were also specified to highlight the beautiful timber joinery and provide functional light for the wardrobes. We also incorporated a new VLUX skylight, and underfloor heating for the clients to enjoy in the cooler months.
AFTER –
This master ensuite boasts a rich moody pallette, creating a luxurious retreat like atmosphere for the clients in this lush Chapel Hill property. With an exquisite level of detail and high quality finish throughout, this bathroom truly is luxury like no other. The combination of the black japan timber joinery with the rounded portsea grey limestone benchtops creates a seamless set of custom vanities. The curved forms in the space create a contrast against the linear elements of the design, such as the mirror cabinets, custom glass shelving and wall tile split.
The small format mosaics meet the large natural stone tiles at a wall split which is cohesive around all walls of the ensuite, finished with a powdercoated bronze flat bar at their junction. The juxtoposition between the organic nature of the mosaics and the deep detailed vaining in the large natural stone tiles creates a truly unique feature to this bathroom. The space and storage in this design was maximised through the use of full height joinery intergrated into the bathroom, custom vanities and mirror cabinetry. The wardrobe joinery feautures storage solutions for every need, including shoe racks, half and full height hanging space and hidden drawers with custom felt organisers. Sensored, LED lighting has been built into both wardrobes, under vanity and niches for ultimate functionality and control.
